Searching for Spring in a glass? Look no further than this delicate libation which features Peony Vodka and the herbal bounty that is Green Chartreuse.
The peony flower is quite literally at the root of Peony Vodka. It is comprised of a proprietary blend of nine natural ingredients, including geranium, jasmine, white pepper, gardenia, green tea, vanilla, and the heart of Peony Vodka – tincture of peony. I wouldn’t call it a flavored vodka as the floral notes are subtle and akin to the rose and cucumber notes found in Hendrick’s gin. It’s smooth and delicate, so I didn’t want to overpower it with other spirits.
- 1.5 oz Peony Vodka
- .5 oz Green Chartreuese
- .25 oz Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
- .5 oz lime juice
- 1 egg white
Combine all ingredients in a shaker and dry shake. Next, add ice and shake again. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a flowers of your choice. The only flowers I had on hand were some blooming Morning Glory's in my yard, an Arizona staple. I'm nothing if not resourceful! Cheers.
