Flavor profiles in cocktails often mimic those found in traditional culinary dishes. When I was a kid, my mom made these amazing blueberry and bananas pies so here is my attempt at creating a cocktail to compliment those flavors.
It all starts with a great golden rum from Diplomatico Rum. Barbet No. 2 is a limited edition run from the Distiller Series, named after the unique still used in the process of creating it. The banana element comes from a banana liqueur and the blueberry (as well as the sour element) comes from Element Shrub Blueberry & Rosemary shrub. Add some orgeat, lime and a little soda for bubbles and you have one easy drinking tiki cocktail full of flavor.
